Hickam nominated McCawley, citing her seniority; McCawley declined and returned the suggestion to Hickam, who also declined, explaining she would be unavailable during June and July. Cruz then volunteered; McCawley moved to nominate him, Hickam seconded, and all members voted in favor. Hickam subsequently volunteered for vice chair; after discussion about summer availability, McCawley moved, Goldschmidt seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
